There are no connection fees. Kinvo charges a 5¢ connection fee per answered call but bills per second after the first minute. Traditional carriers typically charge $1.00+ per minute with no connection fee but require a monthly subscription.
PhoneTheWorld rates are real-time data from our database. Competitor rates are estimates based on typical markups over wholesale rates: Kinvo is typically 1.5x our rate, Skype was 1.2x, and Viber Out is approximately 0.65x (but requires an app and credits expire after 6 months). Traditional carrier rates are shown as $1.00/min, which is a conservative estimate — many carriers charge $2-$3/min for international calls.
